Why have you been referred?

Your general dentist has recognized that you may need special procedures to help you keep your teeth and make your gums healthier. They realize that our office stays abreast of the most advanced procedures in the field and have the materials and skills to achieve this goal. Periodontist have received at least three years of additional extensive training in periodontal disease diagnosis and treatment (in addition to dental school). As specialists, we exclusively devote our time and energy to helping people, like you, with periodontal concerns.

Your Initial Visit

During your first visit to our office, one of our staff members and your periodontist will review your medical and dental history. If you are here for an immediate concern, that will be our primary focus. If however, you are present for a periodontal or implant consultation, we will perform a comprehensive periodontal examination, oral cancer screening, and review current radiographs. We may need to take some x-rays to visualize the bone level and roots of the teeth. After evaluating your case, we will discuss out findings and present treatment options. Then, while detailed oral hygiene instructions are provided to you, our financial coordinator will prepare and estimate the fees and insurance benefits. Your next appointment will be scheduled after you are well educated in both the clinical and financial aspects of your treatment.
